This full color stock medical exhibit features illustrations depicting a Bougienage procedure on a lower esophageal (schatzki) ring that resulted in a perforation of the lower esophagus. A series of five images illustrate an orientation figure, the normal anatomy at the junction between the stomach and the esophagus, a Schatzki ring at the junction between the stomach and the esophagus to highlight the reduced lumen size created by a ring, the bougie dialator widening the lumen and the subsequent perforation of the lower esophagus that occured as a result of this failed procedure.
