Initial Fixation of Right Lower Extremity Fractures

This exhibit features multiple surgical steps of the surgical fixation of right lower extremity fractures. Specifically shown in this case are four surgical steps detailing the following: A- The patella is completely removed. B- Debris and devascularized bone are removed from the tibia and a rod is inserted into the tibia using a guidepin and a reamer. Locking screws are used to secure the rod. C- The extensor mechanism is repaired. D- The lisfranc joint is reduced, a pin is placed through the 1st cuneiform bone and k-wires are placed through the 4th and 5th metatarsal heads.
