Surgical Replacement of Lumbar Pedicle Screw

ID: exh62548b
Title: Surgical Replacement of Lumbar Pedicle Screw This exhibit begins with an enlargement of a CT film of the fifth lumbar vertebra, an axial view, that shows clearly the bone defect of the screw that was placed incorrectly and was later extracted. There is an illustration that is an interpretation of this CT film image that depicts a second screw placed correctly this time passing through the pedicle to the vertebral body and the bone defect to the medial side. Also, a small image has been included in this exhibit illustrating the defendant's theory of a migrating screw causing injury to the neural nerves within the canal.
