Pre and Post Operative Appearance of Richter’s Hernia - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit features side-by-side images comparing the pre- and post- operative appearances of the Richter's hernia at the old trocar site in the abdomen.
The exhibit begins with an anterior overview of the female abdomen showing the old trocar site, and the hernia nodule location- as it appeared prior to surgery.
The next image shows a cut-section through the layers of the abdominal wall revealing the pre-operative condition showing a longstanding partial small bowel loop obstruction entrapped and adhered into the old trocar site.
The final image shows the hernia site following the surgical debridement, showing a small segment of the bowel resected, with end to end anastomosis of the bowel ends, and the hernia wound closure.
