The drawings on the left side of the image show the deteriorated condition of the knee joint, including the arthritic changes and the absence of a medical meniscus. Also visible is the fixation hardware used to correct the fractured tibia and fibula. On the right, the images illustrate the TKR surgery, including shaving the damaged bone surfaces and replacing them with prosthetics (prostheses).
