Post-operative Ventral Hernias with Surgical Repairs

This exhibit depict multiple hernias along the scar of a midline surgical incision and the site where there used to be a distal transverse loop colostomy. The exhibit also depict a series of illustrations that shows an initial attempt to repair using laparoscopic surgical procedure which was later turned into an open laparotomy. Abdominal adhesions are removed, a portion of compromised small bowel is removed and Permacol mesh is used to reinforce the abdominal wall preventing hernias from recurring.
